MY VALENTINE REFASHION

Hey guys,

Sorry this is coming late (too much work!).

So, happy belated valentine to y'all. Did you have fun? Forward pictures of your presents to me, will ya? Don't be stingy...

So I had so much work to do during that time, and this was one of them:

Most of you already saw it on FB. Dress, purse, make-up done by me!

Then, I had to move on to Project Look-Good-For-Church-Valentine-Summit! The colour code for the summit was red and white, and I remembered I had this gown (or whatever it is, below) in my room somewhere; so I decided to do a refashion!

And this is what came out... a not-so peplumy-top; but I loved it still! (Oh I added some warmify & glow effect to the picture, thanks to Picasa!)

Anyways, don't you just love it! I even made a purse outta the scraps left!

Oh well, that was my Valentine; and this, here, is my Valentine Refashion. Thanks for reading!

Until next time, y'all have an awesome week!

MY THUMB. MY RING.

Hey everybody!

How'd your Sunday go? Great? Wonderful! How did mine go? Well... eventful!

So, just before the usual Sunday service kicked off for real, I was standing just outside my church building trying to figure out how to quench the fire in my red right eye;

Yea, that one... A woman that wanted to get something for her kid from the mallam suddenly looked at me and said "Why do you wear a ring on your thumb?"

She did not give me a chance to answer the question, she just went on, "This is the problem with Nigerians, they don't know what something signifies, they just go ahead and do it and call it fashion. When I was in the world, I used to wear a ring on my thumb and it's a symbol of lesbianism. A lot of lesbians used to approach me then cos they know I am one of them, when they see the ring."

Toh!

*clears throat* "Ma'am, I am not a lesbian and I've been wearing this ring for a very long time now, and a lot of lesbians have not been approaching me. Thank you for telling me tho." Then I smiled at her kid, turned and left. Operation Quench-Fire-in-RRE terminated!

I thank God for her that she is no longer in the world... We thank the Lord. But I still got curious and googled "the significance of wearing rings on different fingers", and this is what I dug out...

And somewhere else, I read that "In India, wedding rings have long been worn on the thumb"... so maybe I'm secretly married to one Vikram Santoshi (who knows?!).

Anyways, no mention of lesbians anywhere. However there's mention of "Ruby" and "Thumb" in the same section... meaning wearing a ring on my thumb shows I'm a true Ruby (whatever that means; it's all really weird, actually).

So yaaaay, y'all can breathe easy, the Rebelkween is not a lesbian, I repeat, she is not a lesbian! Copy? Good! Although I know a few of you that wish I am! *grins*

In other news, I made this gown last weekend, + the purse:

(Lord, teach me to pose for the camera without having to raise my eyebrow)...

The attire - Hate, Like, Love or Indifferent? Let me know... Y'all have an awesome weekend!
